Signs of a Religious Vocation

  • You are a single Catholic who practices the faith.
  • You thirst for God.
  • Your relationship with God is important.
  • You are involved in your parish life.
  • You have a healthy prayer life.
  • You have average or above average intelligence.
  • You have a good sense of humor.
  • You like yourself and believe you have gifts to offer.
  • You are generous.
  • You want to better the lives of other people.
  • You enjoy life.
  • You want to make a difference in the world.
  • You can make sacrifices for a greater good.
  • You desire to follow a religious vocation.
  • You like people and get along with people and get along with different age groups.
  • You form healthy relationships with men and women.
  • You have the right motives: to do God’s will, grow in holiness, serve the church (not to please your parents, to be taken care of, or because you have an unhappy love life).
  • You have persistent thoughts about being a priest or religious.
  • If you are free from these impediments: poor physical or mental health, young children, advanced age, large debts, addictions, or a marriage that’s not annulled: God may be calling you.
